On Friday I photographed Josie and Gustavo's wedding. The wedding was an intimate ceremony at their home with some of their family and close friends. I loved the small and intimate wedding! Josie and Gustavo both have amazing hearts and I am glad I got to share this moment with them and help capture their big day! It was a beautiful ceremony and wedding! Congrats Josie and Gustavo!

I have a special place in my heart for Senior Sessions. I love meeting graduating seniors and hearing their story - then trying to convey that through their senior photographs. These are photos they are going to cherish forever and when they look back on them in 50 years, they are going to remember that wonderful time in their life. I am so glad I could be a part of this experience for several seniors last year. Here are some of my favorite sessions from 2016: Bri Bri has a great spirit! What I loved about her is she was a natural behind the camera, even if she didn’t feel like she was! ;) We traveled to the Stone Arch Bridge and into the ruins area in Downtown Minneapolis. Bri really wanted buildings in her images and a rustic feel. The Stone Arch Bridge area is one of my favorite spots for photoshoots! Bri brought her friend, Danielle, along for the shoot, which made it twice as fun! Between Bri’s mom and Danielle, we had no problem getting Bri to laugh. Before her photoshoot, Bri let me know that she wanted to take some pictures with Danielle also. You can tell that Bri and Danielle are great friends from their chemistry together! I had a great time photographing Bri and getting to know her, her mom (Melissa), and Danielle! Bri has a beautiful free-spirited personality and I think her photographs really brought that out. Adam For Adam’s session we headed to Fish Lake Park in Maple Grove. Another one of my favorite spots to take photos! It has everything from a lake, walking trails, steps, a bridge, and some great rocks - all with some amazing greenery and awesome Fall colors during that time of year. Adam came well prepared to his photoshoot and all of his props made for some great photos! He is on the bowling team at Coon Rapids High School, so he brought his bowling ball and uniform. He also brought his Trumpet and Tennis Racket. We had some fun playing around with all of these items! We also had some awesome weather! It was a beautiful October day and we couldn’t have asked for more. Adam did a great job during his senior session and I really enjoyed getting to know him more. Carissa We captured some GREAT images during Carissa’s senior session. For Carissa’s session, we also headed to Fish Lake Park in Maple Grove. It is always amazing to me how different images turn out - even when you have been to a location several times. You always find something new or photograph in a different way. Carissa came prepared with several cute outfits to go with the Fall colors. We had some great lighting and the sun popped out quite a few times to get some great backlit shots. Her mom kept telling her to do a serious face and even though she thought she couldn’t pull it off, I think she looked gorgeous! Carissa was a natural behind the camera - I don’t think she took one bad picture! Lauren I really enjoyed photographing Lauren. We headed to the Stone Arch Bridge for this photoshoot. Lauren’s photoshoot wasn’t technically considered just a Senior Session - it was more of a “Sister Session”, but I am going to include it in this post anyways because we had a great session together! Every time one of her daughters graduates, Kris (Lauren’s mom) does a photoshoot of the three girls together - which I think is a brilliant idea. This time Lauren, the youngest daughter, is graduating! Each one of the girls had such great personalities - you can tell Kris did an amazing job raising them! :) In between shooting photographs of the three girls together, we got some singles of just Lauren. Lauren has such an amazing smile and you can feel her warm personality shine through the photos! It was great having Lauren’s sisters, Karlee and Jenna, cheering her on and making her smile.
I hope Bri, Adam, Carissa, and Lauren have an amazing close to their senior year and are excited for what their future holds! I am excited to photograph a whole new group of seniors this year and tell some more stories! McKenzie Tompt Photography I am so blessed with the amazing couples I get to photograph! Jon and Rosemary were awesome to work with. You can tell by the way they look at each other how much love they have for one another. Their wedding was on a RAINY January day (I know, right?) so unfortunately we weren't able to take any photographs outside, but we had a lot of fun anyways! Something that made their wedding unique is that their two dogs, Ghost and Daisy, were there Ring Bearers and walked (or ran) down the aisle! They were so well behaved and attended the party with everyone afterwards. What a treat! I had such a great time photographing their wedding and I could tell that all of their guests were having an amazing time also! Congrats, Jon and Rosemary!
